These few althelets may not be very wise, but their action highlight the international concern with the air quality in Beijing, and the fact that Americans are living a much better life than the Chinese. Americans will not always trade their health for a good opinion of being considerate and sympathetic for the Chinese. Pollution in China is killing Chinese, young and old. The Chinese authorities and the ordinary people should take the problem very seriously and try to solve the problem creatively. So I would say it is a very good thing to cause some stir in Beijing. Chinese tend to tolerate, but have no reasons to expect others to follow.
